TRACK AND FIELD: Kentwood wraps up regular season against Federal Way, ready to take on league meet this week

The Kentwood track and field team hosted Federal Way May 7 with a victory going to the girls team and impressive individual numbers for the boys.

The girls won 89-52 and the boys lost 89-47.

Leading the way for the girls was freshman Alyx Toeaina with a hat trick in field events. The young standout won the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 8.50 inches. Toeanina was the leader in discus reaching 121-0 and she capped the meet with a victory in the javelin with 92-02.

Jamie Larsen won the pole vault clearing 10-0.

In running events, Holly DeHart was a double winner taking the 200-meter sprint in 25.90 and the 400 in 1:01.57.

Dana Wareham won the 800 in 2:25.92.

Kailey Ulland took the 3,200 in 12:34.21.

Clarisa Hammer won the 100-meter in 16.89

In relay events, the team of DeHart, Alena Davis, Quincie Proctor-Guyton and Wareham won the 800-meter in 1:46.38.

Davis, Kyra Gaines, Kaylene Thiel and Wareham won the 1,600 relay in 4:27.84.

For the boys, Tim Pettit won the 800 meter in 2:00.51 and the 1,600 in 4:38.

Darrius Coleman won 110-meter hurdles in 14.70.

Jordan Jainga took the 300 hurdles in 42.12.

The 1,600 relay team won in 3:30.84. The members are Kevin Bateman, Tristan Askew, Ricardo Tucker and Petit.

In field events Mike Roy won the javelin with a throw of 139-07.

Cody Fishel took the high jump clearing 6-02.
