TRACK AND FIELD: After dust settles Kentwood looks strong

The Kentwood track and field team battled in a series of meets last week.

The Conqueror boys topped out at third in the Shoreline Invitational Saturday at Shoreline Stadium in Seattle.

Leading the way for Kentwood at Shoreline was Devin St. Clair breaking the line in the 100-meter sprint in 10.73 for the win and in the 200 dash in 21.40.

Darius Coleman won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.91.

The 1,600 relay team of Tristan Askew, Ricardo Tucker, St. Clair and Steven Warner came in second in 3:25.85.

The girls team attended the Lake Washington Invitational Saturday coming in ninth out of 50 places.

Holly Dehart ran third in the 100-meter dash in 12.65.

The Conquerors went up against Kent-Meridian April 29 on the road. The boys lost 77-59 and the girls fell 76-65.

Once again for the boys, Devin St. Clair smoked the competition in the 100 in 11.08 and the 200 in 22.15.

Kevin Massimino won the 1,600 in 4:36.90.

Coleman took the 110 hurdles in 15.00 and Ricardo Tucker won the 300 hurdles in 40.71.

Tucker, St. Clair, Coleman and Askew won the 400-meter relay in 43.31.

The 1,600 relay was all Kentwood in 3:23.67 with Kevin Bateman, Tucker, Tim Pettit and St. Clair.
