The third annual Badges and Barbells Summer Leadership Camp at Cedar Heights Middle school, which was a three week long summer camp.
The kids learned about physical fitness, weightlifting, leadership and develop skills to help them adjust to life as middle school student.
It is made up mostly of incoming eighth graders as well as some eighth grade mentors, and a few younger kids who we invite because we think they will benefit from the positive interactions.
School staff along with police officers from the Covington Police Department and King County Sheriff’s Office, Firefighters from Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, and members of our Armed Services provide the instruction and supervise the activities as a way to build positive relationships between Public Service Professionals and kids.
