Tahoma High’s Cruz Velasquez lost a close 126 pound championship match 3-1 to Timmy Martinez in the Mat Classic Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Tacoma Dome.
Velasquez won a 5-3 overtime match in the semifinals over Jake Douglas from Lake Steven to get into the final round.
Velasquez took third last year and fourth in 2012.
