The Tahoma track and field team traveled to Curtis High School in University Place March 20 and both the girls and boys made a solid showing.
Savannah Johnson had an impressive day with a first-place finish in the 200-meter sprint in 26.6 seconds.
The senior went up against another nationally ranked jumper, Andrea Geubelle, and Johnson came out on top in the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet, 7 inches. Geubelle came in second at 37-2.
Geubelle took the long jump reaching 18-10 and Johnson came in at 17-9.
Johnson also ran the 800-meter relay with Mande McKinney, Cassidy Richmond and Tate Latimer. The team finished in 1:50.5. A Curtis team was not listed as competing in the event.
Molli Bahlenhorst ran first in the 400-meter in 68.4.
Latimer won the 300-meter hurdles in 50.4.
Tahoma’s 400-meter relay team ran the race in 53.2. The runners were Mollie Picha, Richmond, Kassie Jensen and McKinney. A Curtis team was not listed in the event.
The Bears won the 1,600 relay in 4:34.9. The team included Sarah Jeric, Lauren Clawson, Bahlenhorst, and Marissa Landeis.
Nadine Hyde took two throwing events coming in first in the shot put with a toss of 26-8 and winning the discus at 90-9.
Laura Merle completed the Tahoma sweep of throwing events with a first in the javelin with 68-7.
For the boys team, Kelton Sears won the 800-meter in 2:05.
Casey Campbell took the 3,200 event in 11:13.
In the throwing events, freshman Aaron Davis won the shot put with a toss of 41-.5.
Justin Hull took the discus reaching 107-9 and Kelly Bolduc won the javelin at 113-1.
Evan Schneider was first in the pole vault at 12-0.
