Those Bears just keep rolling and rolling.

The Tahoma girls soccer team won three more games to keep its undefeated streak alive and well.

Along with being unbeaten, the girls have given up one goal all season, and that was Oct. 2 against South Puget Sound League, 4A North Division rival Kentwood. Tahoma won the game 2-1.

The Bears are sitting on top of the division with a 9-0-0 record and 27 points. Kentlake is second with a 7-1-1 record and 22 points and Kentwood is in third at 6-3-0 and 18 points.

Tuesday Tahoma hosted Kentridge and won 2-0. Goalie Amber Woolcock earned the shutout, the eighth of the season.

Mollie Picha scored the first goal at 60 minutes from a Brie Hooks assist and Tori Tappero hit the second at 70 minutes also from a Hooks assist.

The showdown match was Saturday when Tahoma traveled to French Field to lineup against Kentwood.

The Conks were in second place and pushing for first, but the Bears had other ideas.

Tahoma coach Jason Johnson wrote in an e-mail Tuesday, “We knew going into the match that it was going to be a battle and we got just that. They are always very organized and well coached, so we had to take advantage of our opportunities.”

Sarah Jeric scored at nine minutes for the Bears, unassisted, for the first goal and she hit the second at 38 minutes, also unassisted.

Kentwood Megan McNally scored for Kentwood at 78 minutes, unassisted.

“Sarah Jeric has been really tough for us all year,” Johnson wrote. “Saturday she was a big lift for us. Our passing and possession really helped us dictate the pace of the match. Kentwood never quit and came back late making the finish a stressful one.”

Johnson noted the key to the team is the defense, which will be important in the final seven game stretch run of the season.

The Bears next game is 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Mount Rainier.
