The Tahoma girls soccer team are riding a bullet to the top of the South Puget Sound League, 4A North Division with an undefeated record.
Coach Jason Johnson reported the Bears defeated Kent-Meridian 6-0 Tuesday at French Field, which gives the Bears a 4-0 record. It’s hard to beat perfect.
Johnson wrote Brie Hooks nailed one goal and added three assists in the Bears’ win over the Royals.
“Torre Tappero had one goal, Sarah Jeric had one goal, Cassidy Richmond had three goals and an assist, and Becca Velasco had a goal and an assist,” Johnson stated. “Both goalkeepers Amanda White and Amber Woolcock had the shutout.”
This is the fourth consecutive shutout for the Bears. The team beat Kentridge 4-0 in the opener Sept. 7. The girls took Mount Rainier 3-0 Sept. 14 and followed that shutout with a 4-0 drubbing of Auburn Riverside Sept. 16.
The Bears travel to Auburn Thursday. The score will be available on the website.
Tahoma will face a test Tuesday when the team travels to Kentlake for a 5:30 p.m. game.
Kentlake had a 3-0-1 record as of Monday. The Falcons traveled to Auburn Tuesday, picking up a 3-2 victory over the Trojans to stay undefeated.
