The Tahoma wrestlers dominated a pair of dual meets this week, capped with their reclamation of the “Battle of the Bone” trophy Thursday.
The Bears pounded their rivals at Enumclaw, 59-9, holding onto the celebratory cow femur bone that annually goes to the victory. Enumclaw, ranked as the No. 10 team in 3A by the Washington Wrestling Report, held the trophy after a tight, 32-28 win in 2013.
The win over Enumclaw was the second landslide victory in as many days, coasting to victory over Kentlake on Wednesday, 64-6. Now finished with its regular season, the Tahoma grapplers prepare for Sub-Regionals on Feb. 7.
The squad won the 4A state title in 2012 and took second in 2013. The Bears are the No. 4 ranked 4A team in the state.
