There are some exciting changes this season, highlighted by formation of a new league that has a full 10-game schedule for each team. League officials anticipate there will be a new artificial turf practice facility for the football and cheer program at Ravensdale, which will be open no later than September 1.

Teams will have roster limits in place to ensure adequate playing time for each player. Players will be placed on a first come, first served basis. Once a roster limit is reached for a grade level, a waiting list will be used and when possible there will be more than one team at a grade level.

The teams will be separated by grade: grades 1-2; grades 3-4; grade 5; grade 6; grades 7-8.

The registration fee for the 2014 season is $300. It covers, helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey, insurance, league fees and facility rentals. Fully paid registration is required by July 15 (register by June 15 and save 10 percent) and before a player will be able to participate in the first practice, which is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 4.

In addition, there will be a $100 uniform fee that will cover two new custom game jerseys and socks. Each player will be allowed to keep his game jerseys at the end of the season. Players will need to have their own cleats and mouth guard by the first practice.

There is an additional $100 equipment deposit required at the time of equipment check-out (fully refundable).

Cheer registration

The cheer registration fee is $300.  It covers uniform top and skirt (returned at the end of the season) plus midriff, brief, bow and warm-up jacket.  Additionally, the cheerleader must provide white no-show socks and black leggings. The cheerleader must purchase cheer shoes through the program.

If the cheerleader has a warm-up jacket from the previous season, that portion of her payment will be used toward the purchase of cheer shoes.

Mandatory fittings for cheerleaders will be held May 6 or May 22.

Practice for the season will begin Aug. 5 for varsity cheerleaders and Aug. 12 for all other cheerleaders.
