Week two of high school football saw Tahoma High travel to South Kitsap while Rainier Christian started its second season of eight man football.

The Tahoma Bears started the season with win and a loss and are heading into a South Puget Sound League 4A North battle with Kentwood.
The Bears were scheduled to play Kentwood Thursday, past the print edition deadline.
Tahoma traveled to South Kitsap and lost a nonleague game 42-35 Sept. 9.
In the opening game of the season the Bears beat SPSL North rival Thomas Jefferson 38-31.
Against Jefferson the Bears posted a 10 point fourth quarter to win the game.
On Friday, Sept. 23, the Bears will host Auburn.

Rainier Christian
Rainier Christian High School kicked off the football season with a 34-13 loss to Taholah.
The team will feature its first home game at noon Sept. 24 at Kentlake High against Tulalip Heritage.
Rainier Christian plays with an eight-man football squad and this is the second year the school has been fielding a team.
Against Taholah, Rainier Christian went down 14-0 at the half.
The Rainier boys scored in the third on a drive that featured a 30-yard reverse by Jared Nelson and a fourth down pass completion for 25 yards from Cory Nelson to Eli Boyge.
The touchdown was scored by Kyle Clark.
Ben Littlefield also scored on a kick return.
Cory and Jared Nelson each rushed for more than 70 yards.
Sam Flynn had three sacks and David Helmer had an interception.
