Tahoma and Kentwood play for 4A state championship | Girls Soccer

It will be a South Puget Sound League, 4A North Division party Saturday when Tahoma lines up against Kentwood for the girls 4A state soccer championship 4 p.m. Saturday at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood. Tahoma won its semifinal game beating Skyline 1-0 Friday at Harry Lang and Kentwood took its step next beating Skyview 2-1.

Game time is 4 p.m. at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood.

Tahoma won its semifinal game beating Skyline 1-0 Friday at Harry Lang and Kentwood took its step next beating Skyview 2-1.

Tahoma’s task was tall beating the Skyline, ranked No. 1. Skyline had beaten Tahoma last year in the state tournament after two overtimes and two shoot-outs.

Kentwood went to double overtime and took nine shots during the shoot-out to finally top Skyview.

All the teams were playing in very cold weather, but the chilly temperature didn’t seem to affect the girls’ play or intensity.

Tahoma’s goal was scored by Sarah Jeric and Megan McNally scored for Kentwood in regulation.
