The Kentlake track and field team was busy running, throwing and jumping last week with some impressive results.
The boys took the field at the Shoreline Invitational Saturday and finished in a three-way tie for seventh with A.C Davis and Hazen high schools.
The stand out for Kentlake was Zach Smith taking the long jump reaching 22 feet, 8.25 inches. Smith took second in the triple jump reaching 45-01.5.
The Kentlake 400-meter relay team finished second in 42.92. The team members were Tayler Angevine, Matthew Cowan, Smith and Cody Arp.
The girls headed to the Lake Washington Invitational Saturday and tied at 41st with Highline, Auburn Riverside, Stadium and Juanita.
Kentlake went up against Tahoma April 30.
The boys lost 70-66 and the girls 107.5-33.
Smith dominated in the sprint and field events. He took the 100-meter in 10.92 and cleaned up in his jumping events finishing first in the long jump at 20-11.25 and the triple jump at 42-10.5
The boys were strong in other sprint events with Tayler Angevine winning the 200 in 24.20.
Cowan won the 400 in 53.49.
Alex Straus came across the line first in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.58.
Arp, Smith, Cowan and Angevine won the 400 relay in 43.18.
Dallin Grover took the high jump at 6-2 .
