The Maple Valley Parks and Recreation co-ed softball playoffs kicked off Monday with a game between the X-Men and Maple Valley Presbyterian Church.
The church team prevailed with a 9-7 win at Patrick’s Field in Lake Wilderness Park, but the X-Men made a run at them.
Maple Valley Presbyterian led 5-1 early, but the X-Men made a game of it.
The Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety won its third consecutive league crown led by the home-run hitting of Jeff Granlund.
The team had a bye Monday and play their first game Thursday.
The championship game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday.
