Championship showdown set for Wednesday at Kentwood

The Bears beat Auburn at home 22-8 Friday improving the team’s South Puget Sound League, 4A North record to 11-1.

The victory sets up a potential championship game at Kentwood High on Wednesday.

Both teams play Tuesday. Tahoma hosts Auburn Riverside at 4 p.m. and Kentwood hosts Federal Way at 4 p.m.

If Kentwood and Tahoma win Tuesday, the game Wednesday will be a showdown for the league championship.

In the first meeting between the teams, Kentwood beat Tahoma 5-2 April 3 and a chilly night at Auburn Mountainview.

Against Auburn, Tahoma pitcher Chris Kerwood was the winning hurler.

At the plate Zack Aaker hit 2-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Kyle Conwell hit 1-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

Heydon Johnson batted 2-3 with a four bagger and four RBIs.

Chris Marangon hit 2-4 with a home and two RBIs.

Brian Olson was 2-3 with a double and two RBIs and Taylor Smart hit 1-2 with a triple and two RBIs.
