Looking back at the top male athletes for Tahaoma High class of 2009 there are many excellent choices, but one stands above the rest.
Chris Marangon was both a top athlete and leader whether he was running for a touchdown on the gridiron or throwing heaters on the mound.
The senior star has decided to attend Western Nevada, and his presence will be missed in the classroom and on the athlete fields.
Marangon helped the Bears football punch a playoff ticket in the fall.
He was named to the South Puget Sound League North Division All-Conference First Team at wide receiver and received an honorable mention nod for his work as a punter for the Bears.
During football season he rushed for 476 yards on 62 carries and caught 22 passes for 368 yards and a pair of touchdowns. When Marangon got the ball he averaged nearly 8 yards per carry and nearly 17 yards per reception.
The senior led the Bears baseball team to Safeco Field and a third place finish in the state tournament.
Maragnon was name the 4A player of the year by the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association and he was the South Puget Sound League’s co-MVP.
