There were some hot races at the Maple Valley Kids’ Festival bike challenge Saturday at Lake Wilderness.
Cameron Harrison narrowly beat Ethan Fite for the first place title in the 5-7 year-olds division.
Nine year old Karlyn Stokes, 9, won first place in the 8-9 year-olds division and 10-year-old Jared Wold won first place in the 10-12 year-olds division.
Maple Valley Officer Jeff Harmon and Chief Michelle Bennett raced the course to start the day and posted times for the children to try and beat.
The challenge course was created by the Maple Valley Parks & Recreation staff and was completely contained within Lake Wilderness Park. The 5-7 Year old division competed on a .3-mile course while the 8-9 and 10-12 year old divisions competed on a .52-mile course.
