Maple Valley athlete signs letter of intent with University of Alaska | College Volleyball

Miranda Grieser started as setter for Highline Community College the last two seasons

A junior college volleyball player from Maple Valley has signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Alaska.

According to a press release, Miranda Grieser, intends to play for the Nanooks next season.

Grieser is a 5-foot-7-inch setter from Highline Community College. Highline won back-to-back NWAACC West Region titles with Grieser sarting both seasons. The team went 13-1 in the West and 23-12 overall last season.

Grieser was named to the NWAACC West Region First Team and also earned a place on the NWAACC All-Academic Team. Grieser was named the West Regions Setter of the Week three times.

“Miranda is a true competitor, which is what you want in a setter,” said Alaska volleyball head coach Mallory Larranaga in the release. “As a leader on the court she makes intelligent choices and will work hard for her teammates. Her work in the classroom is impressive and proves her commitment to being an accomplished student-athlete. Miranda will be a great Nanook as she adds high-level experience to our squad this fall.”
