Legacy Landscaping wins Maple Valley Parks & Recreation’s adult fast break basketball championship

Maple Valley Parks & Recreation’s Adult Fast Break Basketball League concluded last Dec. 16 at Tahoma Junior High when the third seeded Legacy Landscaping defeated the fourth seeded Team Pozzi 68-59.

Maple Valley Parks & Recreation’s Adult Fast Break Basketball League concluded last Dec. 16 at Tahoma Junior High when the third seeded Legacy Landscaping defeated the fourth seeded Team Pozzi 68-59.

During the semi-finals Team Pozzi upset the first seed Valley Boys 72-58 in overtime, avenging a regular season defeat by the same score. Team Pozzi began the semi-final game with only four players and trailed by six points at halftime. Pozzi started the overtime period on fire hitting four straight three-pointers while holding the Valley Boys to just one hoop in overtime.

The other semi-final game featured Legacy Landscaping against the second seed Sonics. Legacy Landscaping led by four points at halftime and held off the Sonics with stifling defense winning 62-57.

The championship game was a rematch from week five of the regular season when Legacy Landscaping defeated Team Pozzi. During the championship rematch both teams played stronger defense and Legacy Landscaping held their opponents to 59 points 31 point off their average of nearly 90 points.

Austin Boyce, lead Team Pozzi with 19 points, but it was Justin Reynolds’ 15 points for Legacy Landscaping in the second half that sealed the victory.
