Both the boys and girls Kentwood basketball squads finished the regular season in second place in the North division, putting them in strong position for postseason play.
The female Conquerors downed their last four opponents, including blowout victories over Thomas Jefferson and Kentlake on Feb. 4 and 6, respectively, to finish with a 13-3 conference record. The boys dribbled through seven straight victories to finish the season at 12-4 in conference.
In what may have been its biggest game of the year, the Tahoma boys basketball team lost on Jan. 4 to undefeated Kentridge, 62-47, but still finished third in the division thanks to a 69-61 victory over Thomas Jefferson on Feb. 6.The female Bears finished their regular season on a high note with a 67-27 win over the Raiders, which helped them claim fourth place and a postseason birth.
The Kentlake boys finished the season in seventh-place with a 4-12 conference record, after losing its final two games. Kentlake split its final two contests and took sixth place, with a 7-9 conference record.The 4A district tournament takes place Feb. 13-22.
