Tahoma falls to undefeated Kentridge in crucial matchup

In what may have been its biggest game of the year, the Tahoma boys basketball team lost Tuesday to undefeated Kentridge, 62-47.

It was the Bears’ first loss in five games and dropped the squad to third in the conference standings behind Kentwood, which defeated Auburn 73-68.

With only one game left in the regular season and owning the head-to-head tie-breaker, the Conquerors’ have sealed the second seed in the North division and will host a playoff game.

Kentlake, who will host Kentwood in the finale on Thursday, fell to Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday by a score of 49-58.

The Kentwood girls, jousting for second position in the conference with Kentridge, did their part in a 63-24 victory over Auburn. Tahoma, currently sitting in fourth place, fell to Kentridge 39-50. Sixth-place Kentlake knocked out Thomas Jefferson by 20, winning 55-35.
