Regular season play has come to an end for the Kentwood, Kentlake and Tahoma football teams, with the Conks sitting on top.

Kentwood finished the regular season with an undefeated conference record of 4-0 after defeating Kentlake Oct. 24.

Tahoma finished the regular season on a winning note with a win Oct. 23.

The 4A district tournament Nov. 7-8 pits the South Puget Sound League 4A north and south against each other.

The North is split into two different divisions — the Northwest and Northeast, which holds Kentwood, Kentlake and Tahoma.

The first place Conks and second place Kent-Meridian automatically advance to the district playoffs. The top three, which also includes Tahoma, advance to the seeding games.

Kentwood hosts Todd Beamer at 7 p.m. Friday for divisional seeding in the north.

The Falcons finished the season in fourth-place and were scheduled to play Decatur Oct. 30, which was after press deadline. The Bears were scheduled to play Thomas Jefferson. The winner of that game continues to the district tournament as the No. 5 seed and the loser is out but moves on to play a non playoff, crossover game.

The Conquerors dominated the Falcons at French Field by a score of 50-6.

The Conks scored 43 seconds into the game with a one yard touchdown run and a successful two-point conversion staked them to an early 8-0 lead. The Conks scored again in the first on a 53-yard run and another successful two-point conversion.

After another score in the second quarter, Kentwood entered halftime with a 23-0 lead.

Kentlake’s lone score came early in the fourth quarter, with a two-yard pass from junior Trey Helgeson to junior James George.

The Falcons went for the two points but were unsuccessful.

Kentwood finished the regular season 7-1 overall, the only loss to Federal Way earlier this month.

Kentlake ended the regular season 1-3 in conference play, 3-5 overall.

Tahoma

The Bears defeated the Kentridge Chargers in its final regular season, 29-14.

Kentridge scored first, but the Bears answered with a 31-yard field goal in the second quarter, to trim the deficit to 7-3 at halftime.

Tahoma dominated the third quarter, kicking two field goals and getting a one-yard touchdown run by senior running back Jerome Woods.

Tahoma added to the lead in the fourth quarter when sophomore Josh Smith intercepted Kentridge and took the ball 32-yards for a score.

Tahoma notched one more touchdown with a 16-yard pass from junior quarterback Amandre Williams to senior receiver Tyson Cronin.

Williams finished the game 14 for 33 for 214 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Woods was the Bears leading rusher, with 22 carries for 115 yards and one touchdown. Cronin lead the receivers with six catches, for 63 yards and a score.
