The Kentwood softball team hosted Todd Beamer Friday and lost its third game of the season.
The Conks fell 11-5 to the Titans.
Todd Beamer got out to an early 7-0 start after one inning. In the bottom of the first, Kentwood answered with a run of its own.
The Titans scored their eighth run in the second, and held the Conks scoreless in the next three innings.
During the bottom of the fifth, Kentwood scored four runs to bring the Titans’ lead to 9-5.
Unable to hold Todd Beamer and catch up, Kentwood gave up the final two runs of the game in the top of the seventh inning.
On 10 hits, the Titans scored 11 and Kentwood scored its five runs on eight hits.
On Monday, the Conks faced the 4A defending champions, Tahoma and lost 15-0.
Winning pitcher senior Carley Nance held the Conks scoreless throughout five innings.
The majority of Tahoma’s runs came in the first inning when the Bears scored nine.
The Conks travel to Kent-Meridian today, Friday, April 1, for a 4 p.m. game against the Royals.
The game will be played the the Kent Service Club Ballfields.
