At least one of the two area girls basketball teams will be moving on to the 4A regionals tournament after notching wins on Tuesday night.
The Tahoma females stayed alive in the district tournament with a 47-41 victory over Camas. Kentwood escaped with a three point win over Emerald Ridge, 49-46.
Tahoma faces Puyallup for sixth place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, while Kentwood takes on Kentridge for fifth at 7:45 p.m. Both Tahoma and Kentwood need at least one more win to advance to regionals. If both lose, they match up in the seventh place game on Feb. 22, where the winner moves on and the loser’s season ends.
