Kentlake High administrators celebrated six Falcon student-athletes on Thursday morning.
Parents, students, coaches and friends gathered in Kentlake’s main gym to congratulate seniors Erika Smyth, Jessie Richardson, Erin Crowley, Katherine Miccile, Chelsea Bailey and Sean Hartnett on their opportunities to continue to participate in sports at the collegiate level.
“We’re here to recognize our student-athletes not only for what they’ve accomplished in the past but what they’re going to accomplish in the future,” said Kentlake athletic director Bruce Rick.
Smyth, a shortstop for the fastpitch team, has verbally committed to the University of Minnesota and will sign a letter of intent in April.
Richardson, also on the fastpitch squad, has signed a letter of intent with Bradley University while Crowley, an outfielder for the Falcons, signed with Seattle University in November.
Miccile has verbally committed to play soccer at Western Washington University.
Bailey, a swimmer who holds the state record in the 100-yard freestyle, signed with San Diego State University in October.
Hartnett, a pitcher for the Falcons baseball team, has committed to play for Washington State University.
