In fact, the top three riders in track history combined to ride eight of the 10 winners Sunday. Gutierrez (702 Emerald victories) rode four winners while Gallyn Mitchell (1,190) and Ricky Frazier (789) rode two winners each.

Gutierrez rode seven winners over the weekend, three Saturday and four Sunday, and has ridden 19 winners in the first 18 days of racing. Mitchell and Frazier are tied for second at 17 wins apiece, followed by Inoel Beato in fourth with 14 wins, Troy Stilwell and Pedro Terrero are tied for fifth at 13 wins apiece. Seth Martinez (11 wins), Robert Burney (11), Deborah Hoonan-Trujillo (8) and Francisco Duran (8) round out the top ten.

Frazier, Mitchell and Duran have accounted for the three stakes victories to date, and Frazier’s triumph on the brilliant Noosa Beach in the Seattle Handicap moved him back into a tie with Mitchell for first place in the all-time stakes standings at 63 apiece.
