• ADMISSION: Students with ASB, $5; Adults and student without ASB $7; Elementary school students $4; Senior citizens $5.
• AT STAKE: State berths. The state meet is slated for Feb. 20-21 at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall. The top-two teams and top-two all-around gymnasts will earn berths. The top seven competitors in each of the four events will also earn trips to state final.
• FAVORITES: Kentlake, Puyallup and Emerald Ridge.
• NOTABLE: Kentlake’s Kayla Shira has been golden this year, stringing together several 37.0-plus all-around finishes, including a first-place 37.225 at the sub-district meet. Shira should be pushed by Puyallup’s Chelsey Haskey, who took second at sub-district. … Also on the radar in the all-around competition is Kent-Meridian’s Nora Keith, who was third at the sub-district meet. Keith also grabbed first in the vault with a 9.175 … Tahoma’s Brianna McKenney battled her way to an impressive 36.100 all-around and was fourth overall. Look for her to snag a spot on the podium. … Jamie Larsen of Kentwood was third in the vault at the sub-district meet and finished seventh in the all-around.
