The Kentwood High football team gave the homecoming court a 55-0 victory over Thomas Jefferson at French Field Oct. 9.
The Conks were never challenged as the offense posted 14 points in the first quarter and 21 in the second for a 35-0 half time lead.
In the first half Kentwood quarterback Tristen Askew broke out on an 83-yard run for the first score. Allain Songco reeled in a 48-yard pass from Askew for the second touchdown.
Zach Corpuz ran 23 yards for the next scored and Mikell Everette ran 8 yards for the fourth touchdown.
Senior defensive lineman Josh Smith grabbed a short pass in the endzone for final touchdown of the half.
In final two frames, Mathew Hubbard ran 29 yards for a touchdown to kick off the second half.
Quijuan Lawson scored both touchdowns for the Conquerors from the defensive side in the fourth. The first one was on an interception and the second on a fumble.
Jefferson threatened to score from inside the 5-yard line in the final minute, but the Conks defense held the Raiders, keeping the shutout intact.
Askew rushed for 113 yards then added 110 more yards and two more touchdowns through the air, going 5-for-5 passing. Songco pulled in four catches from Askew.
