Northwest Farms’ Elusive Horizon, undefeated in four stakes around two turns, has been assigned high weight of 122 pounds for the $100,000 Emerald Distaff.
The 1-1/8 mile stakes is schedule to head to post Aug. 16.
Holy Nova, who ran a dead heat with Elusive Horizon for the win in the July 26 Boeing Handicap and Christmas Ship, winner of the July 12 Alameda County Handicap at Pleasanton, Calif. are next on the weights at 121 pounds each.
The 14th running of the Emerald Distaff is the meet’s championship event for older fillies and mares and completes a stakes doubleheader that features the 74th running of the $300,000 Longacres Mile, Grade IIII.
Gadget Queen, who toppled High Resolve and Elusive Horizon in the June 7 Washington State Legislators Stakes, and Heaven On Hold, a stakes-winning speedster at Hastings Racecourse in Vancouver, received 119 lbs. apiece.
