Stoplight needed at intersection
Just past Four Corners on Kent-Kangley going towards Ravensdale, there is an intersection. It is the intersection of Kent-Kangley, the road that runs behind Safeway (271st Place), and the road between Fred Meyer and TRM Wood Products (242nd Avenue). This intersection is frequented by many drivers, especially during the busiest traffic hours like in the afternoon and evening. There have been several occasions where I have nearly witnessed an accident at this intersection, or nearly been in an accident myself. What’s more, I think we all are aware of the major accident that happened just the other week at this very same location. Something needs to be done to change this. I propose implementing, ideally, a stoplight.
You see, there are just so many different factors that drivers must focus on when at this intersection. High-speed traffic in both directions, left-turn lanes in three of the four streets, poor visibility due to obstructions – it’s just a recipe for disaster. This has been an issue for as long as I can remember, and it isn’t getting better. Something must be done before another serious accident occurs with more fatal results. This is unacceptable.
