I have recently read two articles in your paper that speak to the continual questioning of some of the Valley Medical Center Board of Commissioners’ ethics. I was dismayed in 2006 with the annexation fiasco and began following the news concerning Valley Medical Center.
The last two articles you published spoke to the fact that the vote to begin board meetings at 6 p.m. would essentially eliminate the newest elected “reform” candidate. Both articles said the time change vote was 3-2. I don’t understand why neither of your articles gave us the needed information about who voted for what in order to make an informed vote the next time these commmissioners come up for election.
I personally save articles involving elected officials if I think there is wrongdoing in their action so that I am an informed voter the next time around. The fact that the vote has changed so that Commissioner Anthony Hemstad can continue to attend the meetings, does not change my mind about the intent of the three who initially voted to change the time.
I would like you to make these elected officials accountable for their actions by publishing how they cast their vote. In other words, who are the three culprits in this latest Valley Medical Center controversy who voted to change the time for their meetings?
Let’s get this type of information out in the open on your initial articles in the future concerning any elected officials.
