Thursday, Feb. 26 started out like many other days at the Black Diamond Community Center’s Senior Lunch program. Fire personnel from District 44 come in every Thursday to check our seniors’ blood pressure, answer basic health concerns they might have, and give the seniors special attention.
One senior was not feeling well, in fact she was very ill. Thanks to firemen Tony Johnson and John Wilson, and their expert wisdom, they said she needed to go to the hospital. They waited with her until the ambulance arrived, kept her calm and assured her husband she would be fine.
One week later, she finally got out of the hospital. She is alive and feeling better because of Tony and John. The Black Diamond community is so lucky, thanks to Fire District 44.
