Statement to Maple Valley City Council and Planning Commission joint meeting on March 9.

I want to express my interpretation of the process that the Planning Commission has gone through in composing the proposal before you. First they have been the most involved Planning Commission that I have experienced. They have had 15 to 25 or more residents, builders, investors, designers involved at each of the meetings. They have sifted through some very good information, a lot of general information a good deal of misinformation, lack of information and refusal to provide information.

Their debates have covered all of this plus individual investigation as well as sifting through public comments both at the meetings and letters to Planning Commission. The debate has been spirited at times. They have done their best to weigh all the information or lack thereof in making the presentation of what they unanimously feel is the best for the city of Maple Valley and the property owners.
