Terry David Redick (77), the second son of Gerald and Pat (Walker) Redick, was born December 15th, 1941 in Seattle, Washington. He passed away Sunday, November 10th, 2019 in Arlington, Texas due to complications of a severe case of sepsis. Terry grew up with his older brother, Gerald (Jerry), in West Seattle in a beautiful home on Sunset Avenue, and eventually lived in Maple Valley on Pipe Lake. Later in life, Terry was very excited to discover that he had four other siblings: brothers Gerald Jr. (Jerry), Richard (Rich), and sisters, Geraldine (Deanie) and Helen.
Terry attended Lafayette Elementary, James Madison Junior High, and West Seattle High School, graduating in 1960. He had a rich baritone voice and sang in the advanced choir and the jazz choir. Later he sang in the Seattle Philharmonic and Choral Society, as well as in church every Sunday.
Terry spent one year at Olympic College in Bremerton, WA, then married his high school sweetheart, Judith Roberts, in 1961. They lived in West Seattle and had four children: Terryn, Jana, Jeffrey and Tyler. Terry started his first business in 1969, Redick’s Frozen Foods, which was the beginning of many such ventures.
In 1966, after searching for answers about the purpose of life, Terry and family were baptized members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His first, and favorite calling in the church, was in scouting. He quickly became scout master and had that position for nearly a decade, where he was a well-loved leader.
Terry and Judith divorced in May of 1974 and he married again in Nov 1974 to Debra Roe. They had three children: David, Eric and Krista. He and Debra were divorced in August 1995 and he never remarried.
Terry was upbeat and always believed that the best was possible, even to a fault. He was a very involved grandfather, and could often be found playing games or wrestling on the floor with one or more grandchildren at a time.
Terry was greeted in heaven by his youngest daughter, Krista, and is survived by his siblings Rich, Deanie and Helen; six of his children: Terryn Spragg, Jana Huddleston (Rob), Jeffrey Spragg, Tyler Spragg (Kimberly), David Redick (Tiffany) and Eric Redick (Randi); 20 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is loved, and will be dearly missed.
Terry’s funeral is this coming Saturday the 23rd, at 10:30 am in Maple Valley, Washington: 19909 Southeast Wax Road, Maple Valley, Washington 98038.
