October 5, 1922 – October 10, 2024

Marian E. O’Rourke was born in Portland Oregon on October 5,1922. Marian graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle in 1940. On September 23rd she married William John O’Rourke.

Marian had 4 children. Kathleen Beaulieu (John), Daniel O’Rourke (Sue), Timothy O’Rourke (NJ), Colleen O’Rourke, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She worked at the Seattle school district for 20 years. Then went on to own 3 daycare centers in Des Moines and Kent. She retired in 2017 when she was 95 years old. Marian was an inspiration, was ambitious, and had a positive influence on people around her. She taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren no challenge was too big, work hard and your dreams would come true.

Marian lived for 5 days past her 102nd birthday. She was very active up until her journey to heaven. Her favorite thing to do was to go shopping at Costco several times a week to buy cookies, ice cream and people watch with Karina Ramirez who cared for her for 5 years.

Marian loved her guard dogs Chopper & Marley. Several times a day she would say they were smarter than most people. She loved taking her dogs for walks and having them sit at her feet.

She will be missed.
