An elderly yoga instructor died in front of her class on June 3.
According to the state Medical Examiner’s Office, Cynthia Lyman, 71, died of natural causes at 10:05 a.m. The report indicates she had a cardiac event caused by a ruptured aortic dissection. She suffered from hypertension and had cardiovascular disease.
Sgt. DB Gates, media relations officer for King County Sherriff’s Office, said the victim was teaching a class of approximately 13 people at LA Fitness, 27245 172nd Ave. SE., when she collapsed. A couple people performed CPR until fire aid arrived, Gates said. Lyman was pronounced dead at the scene.
