What to know about transit service on Fourth of July in King County

Metro Transit bus routes will operate with a Sunday schedule on Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day.

The holiday schedule means many commuter bus routes will not be in service that day. Bus riders should be sure to check the schedule for their individual routes in advance of the holiday. Sunday fares are in effect on all Metro routes on July 4.

The King County Water Taxi between downtown Seattle and West Seattle will operate with a Sunday schedule on July 4, as will the free Water Taxi shuttles – Routes 773 and 775. There will be no service on the Vashon route on Wednesday. For more water taxi information, visit the water taxiwebsite.

Due to many holiday events this weekend through Wednesday, be sure to check for bus reroutes in the Metro Online Alerts Center under the “Construction & Events” heading. Or, sign up for Transit Alerts on that same page to get news about the routes you use most often.
