Warrants and suspended license found during traffic stop | Black Diamond Police Blotter

An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 31600 block of 3rd Avenue with a man driving with a suspended driver’s license. After stopping the vehicle, the officer verified the driver’s identity. A male passenger provided his driver’s license to the officer to confirm its status so he could take custody of the vehicle.

Feb. 18

  • WARRANTS:31600 block of 3rd Avenue.  An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 31600 block of 3rd Avenue with a man driving with a suspended driver’s license.  After stopping the vehicle, the officer verified the driver’s identity.  A male passenger provided his driver’s license to the officer to confirm its status so he could take custody of the vehicle.  This record check showed the male passenger had two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.  The male driver was issued a criminal citation for the suspended license and the male passenger was notified of his outstanding warrants with limited extradition.  The vehicle was impounded and a 15 day hold was placed on it due to the male driver having one prior conviction for a suspended license.   

Feb. 21

  • NEGLIGENT DRIVING: 3rd Avenue and Jones Lake Road. Officers were dispatched to a three car injury accident at 3rd Avenue and Jones Lake Road. The accident involved speeds at about 50 mph at the time of impact, aide was dispatched to the scene to treat all occupants for injuries.  All three drivers and one passenger were transported to the hospital for nonlife threatening injuries. Through investigation it was determined a vehicle traveling northbound was legally stopped on 3rd Avenue, yielding to oncoming traffic before it could make a left hand turn.  Another vehicle traveling northbound struck the stopped vehicle while traveling near the posted speed limit of 50 mph.  The impact pushed the stopped vehicle into oncoming lanes of travel, striking a vehicle traveling southbound on 3rd Avenue at about the posted speed limit of 50 mph.  All vehicles sustained major damage (totaled).  The driver that caused the accident was issued an infraction for  second degree negligent driving.
