The Teen Volunteer & Job Skills Fair will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday at the Covington Library. The event is free and is open to young people who want to learn about volunteer opportunities available locally as well as improve their job skills through education.
Teens who are looking for ways to help their community or need community service hours can meet with representatives from local nonprofit organizations that help children, animals, the environment and more. Representatives from the Lake Wilderness Arboretum will be there to answer questions about volunteer opportunities.
Young people who may be looking for their first summer job can learn tips for job searching, resumes and interviewing by attending two free informational workshops. “Find the Job: Teen Resume and Job Search Workshop” starts at 1 p.m. and “Get the Job: Teen Interviewing Skills Workshop” follows at 2 p.m. at the Covington Library.
