A toddler has been airlifted to the local trauma center by helicopter following a fall from a second story window in the 11700 block of S.E. 268 Street at approximately 10:50 a.m. today.

When Kent firefighters arrived at the two story house, the child, a male, had been taken back inside the residence after falling from a screened window onto the concrete driveway. The child was conscious and crying during treatment. King County Paramedics continued the care and elected to have the child airlifted to the hospital. According to one paramedic, the child was in serious but stable condition when transported.

Difficulties communicating with the family due to a language barrier were reduced with the help of an interpreter provided through the 911 dispatch, Valley Communications.

Kent Police are on-scene to determine the circumstances that led to the child’s fall.
