Three Maple Valley Community Emergency Response Team to be honored as part of Washington state volunteer appreciation week

On April 25 the ninth annual Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards will be presented to 44 community members. Among those being recognized will be Shannon Higdon and Brian Higdon of Ravensdale.

Shannon and Brian are both members of the Maple Valley Community Emergency Response Team. A third member of the Maple Valley team, Scott Curie of Auburn, will also be recognized.

Also on April 25, the Seattle Mariners and the Washington Commission for National and Community Service will host the fifth annual salute to volunteers night at Safeco Field.
