Covington Library will be the scene tomorrow of a community-based performance of “All the King’s Men” by Intiman Theatre.
It’s part of the Front Porch Theater series in which Intiman travels throughout King County for dramatic readings of excerpts from the script.
A professional actor will join local community members – both “come as you are” and invited – in the performance scheduled to start at 2 p.m., an Intiman spokesman said. After the approximately 40-minute reading, a moderated discussion among participants and the audience will focus on people’s understanding of who they are as Americans.
The idea behind the presentation is to combine art, communities and civic discourse, according to Intiman.
“All the King’s Men” is an adaptation of the political novel by Robert Penn Warren. The story is a fictionalized portrait of Huey P. Long, the legendary Louisiana governor.
