The Breast Center at Valley Medical Center asks the community to knit for hope

The Breast Center at Valley Medical Center is calling all knitters and crocheters to help create pink scarves for patients diagnosed with breast cancer for the Project Pink Scarf 2011.

The Breast Center at Valley Medical Center is calling all knitters and crocheters to help create pink scarves for patients diagnosed with breast cancer for the Project Pink Scarf 2011.

“The scarves provide warmth and hope and let patients know they are not alone in their battle against cancer,” Sherry Kuzan said, manager of The Breast Center at Valley. “We have been so touched by the support of our community. It is remarkable the power in this simple act of kindness. The women who receive the scarves are so thankful.”

In 2010, more than 550 scarves were donated and the staff and Valley’s Breast Center thanked the community for the support

The Breast Center accepts yarn donations for those who don’t know how to knit or crochet, but would like to donate to the project. One scarf is typically made using one or two skeins.

The Breast Center is located at 4033 Talbot Road in the Medical Arts Center at Valley, suite 470. If you would like to donate a new, handmade scarf or yarn, please contact Christy Snavely at The Breast Center at 425-228-3440 extension 4869.
