Incoming kindergarten students have an earlier registration date than normal for next year.

Parents of incoming Tahoma School District kindergarten students need to complete an early pre-registration program by Nov. 30 for the 2017-2018 school year. The reason for the early registration is because the school district is trying to gather information about who the incoming kindergarten students are and how many kindergartners they will have, communication specialist for the Tahoma School District, Wendy Castleman said in an email.

Once families complete the early registration, the district will mail a registration packet to their homes, parents will find out which of the six Tahoma elementary schools their child will attend next September, the district will send parents monthly kindergarten learning connections via email and families will receive a free early learning book.

Kindergarten registration will take place Dec. 5-9. Parents need to bring two things with them to the registration, the child’s original birth certificate and proof of residency. To preregister visit the Tahoma School District website and follow the link in the preregistration article.
