Tahoma Junior High School student Benjamin Fisher served as a legislative page for the House of Representatives March 8-11. Benjamin lives in Maple Valley and is the son of Tiffany and Timothy Fisher. He was sponsored by 5th District State Rep. Glenn Anderson, R-Fall City.

As part of his page duties, the 15-year-old delivered messages and documents to legislators in their offices and on the House floor. His work also included climbing hundreds of stairs each day, navigating the many buildings on the capitol campus and attending daily classes on the legislative process.

Each year, students from around the state apply to participate in the legislative page program. Students spend a week attending page school, learning the inner workings of state government and assisting legislators on the House floor.

To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school.
