Tahoma Honor Band participates in international band event

Tahoma Honor Band participated in the Western International Band Clinic Nov.18- 20.

Tahoma Honor Band participated in the Western International Band Clinic Nov.18- 20.

The band included students from all over the United States and Australia.

Each student participated in one of four bands each with 150 students. They participated in three days of  rehearsals and put together two full length concerts.

Tahoma students participating in this special experience include:  seniors Allison Haun and senior Clara Tibbetts on the alto saxophone, juniors Tyler Johnson and  Shanan Hopp on tenor saxophone, freshman Kathrine Shin,and sophomores Emily Lewis  and Madeline Burt on the flute. Juniors Stephen Shin Euphonium, and Benjamin Price on the tuba.

Nine Tahoma Band Students will be participating in the Pacific Lutheran Northwest High School Honor Band after the first of the year.

They will work with guest conductors Dr. Robert Taylor of University of British Columbia and Dr. Timothy Robblee of Northwestern University.

In this honor band, each student will be participating in one of two bands each with 80 students, play alongside students from around Northwest Region Schools, have two days of rehearsals resulting in a concert.

Students participating in this honor band include:  senior Allison Haun on the Alto Saxophone, sophomore Emily Lewis on the Flute, junior Benjamin Price on the tuba, junior Shanan Hopp on the bassoon, junior Garrett Love on the string bass, junior Stephen Shin on the euphonium, junior Konrad Georgeson and sophomores Jennifer Brown and Ethan Mattson on the bass clarinet.
