Tahoma High School alumnus Anthony DeLeon will be performing in Central Washington University’s upcoming Red Curtain Broadway Revue.
DeLeon, a 2011 Tahoma grad, is a junior in the bachelor of fine arts in musical theatre program. He previously attended Green River Community College. Last summer he performed in A.R.T’s summer production of Jekyll and Hyde as John Utterson. DeLeon has also performed supporting lead roles in student productions through both the Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE program in Issaquah, as well as the 5th Avenue Theatre’s Rising Star Project in Seattle.
The Red Curtain Broadway Revue includes a variety of Broadway classics both old and new. Production numbers include “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof, “I’m a Believer” from Shrek the Musical, “Let’s Hear it for the Boy” from Footloose, and “Make Them Hear You” from Ragtime.
The Revue features students in Central Washington University’s bachelor of fine arts musical theatre performance program, and spotlights their singing, dancing, and acting skills in a variety of scenes, solos, and excerpts from musical theatre. Choreographed, directed, and performed by CWU students, the production combines the enthusiasm and exuberance of youth with professional stage skills, along with serious talent.
The Red Curtain Broadway Revue will be performed Dec. 4-6 at 7:30 p.m. in McConnell Auditorium. There will also be a matinee performance at 2:00 p.m. on Dec, 7. Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 for seniors/students, and $7 for CWU students with ID. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cwu.edu/theatre/tickets or by calling 509-963-1429.
