Suicidal man stands in Lake Sawyer up to his neck | Black Diamond Police Blotter

Officers were dispatched to the Lake Sawyer Park boat launch regarding a suicidal male subject who was standing in his water up to his neck. Upon arrival the male subject had been escorted out of the water by some friends, due to the exposure to cold water for approximately 10 minutes.

  • SUSPENDED LICENSE: 29200 block of 216th Avenue. An officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 29200 block of 216th Avenue. The registered owner had a suspended license. After the officer stopped the male driver, he confirmed his license was suspended. An additional records check showed the man was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle, which he did not. The driver was arrested and booked into Buckley jail.

  • FELONY WARRANT: SE 288th Street. An officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound on SE 288th Street at a speed higher then the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and the officer contacted the male driver, who provided his driver’s license upon request. A records check of the subject showed he had two outstanding felony warrants related to narcotic charges out of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. The subject was arrested and booked into the Regional Justice Center.

  • SUICIDAL MALE: Lake Sawyer. Officers were dispatched to the Lake Sawyer Park boat launch regarding a suicidal male subject who was standing in his water up to his neck. Upon arrival the male subject had been escorted out of the water by some friends, due to the exposure to cold water for approximately 10 minutes. The male subject, who never lost consciousness, was treated for the exposure and taken to a nearby medical center for evaluation.
