Sound Transit trains at the Sumner Station were impacted at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17 when they were stopped for about 15 minutes.

King County Sheriff officers were searching for a suspect with ties to two burglaries and two vehicle thefts.

The chase was halted when the suspect crashed a stolen car near the Sound Transit tracks.

Around 4:20 a.m., the King County Sheriff’s Office were advised by the Seattle Police Department of a stolen van believed to be tied to a burglary in South Seattle.

Deputies not long after began pursuing the van from Skyway to Sumner.

While deputies and Sumner police were working to get a K9 unit going, the suspect broke into a nearby home.

That is where the suspect stole the second vehicle, an SUV.

The SUV is the vehicle the suspect crashed near the Sumner Transit Station.

The K9 unit was unable to locate the suspect who took off on foot after the crash.

All outbound trains were checked for the suspect prior to departure.

No injuries were reported.
