The Sierra Club and Rainier Audubon Society will be hosting a habitat restoration event at Soos Creek Park in coordination with King County Parks from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 15.

Volunteers should meet at Gary Grant Park in Kent (on the north side of 208th St, just east of 132nd Street. Walk a few hundred yards on the trail crossing 208th Street south of the parking lot).

The project will focus on enhancing an area around two ponds and adjacent to the creek. The area has been significantly infested for years with invasive non-native plants such as blackberries and scotch broom. The work will primarily be cutting and digging out blackberries from areas restored at the site over the last 2 years.
