The Maple Valley Rotary was presented with a certificate of appreciation from King County for the club’s service work at Fred V. Habenicht Park.

Park Specialist Anthony Haapasaari present the award today along with a proclamation signed by former King County Executive Ron Sims recognizing the group’s work.

The park on the Cedar River was named for Habenicht who passed away June 19, 2006. Habenicht was recognized for his community service.

Recently members of Rotary and volunteers spent March 28 cleaning up the park.
